Last year we saw the dried flower trend go from strength to strength didn’t we?

Maybe it started the year before with the rise of pampas grass. You saw it at events and wedding in huge feathery displays giving us major Boho vibes.

This then transitioned into more delicate, smaller dried flowers making an appearance.

We saw, not only the natural palette of the pampas and bleached palm leaves but colour was starting to edge in too.

Rainbow gypsophila springs to mind. These pretty, delicate flowers, also known as baby’s breath, that had been dyed all colours of the rainbow certainly grabbed my attention. Once a naff addition to a rose bouquet in the 80s, now becoming a modern floral icon and having its own moment was a joy!

These gorgeous event style installations slowly started popping up, in a scaled-down way of course, in our homes. From neutral, natural bunches to more colourful arrangements, these ‘forever flowers’ are a fabulous way to enjoy florals in our homes.

As long as they are cared for properly dried flowers can last between 1-3 years too! Of course, they need to be handled with a bit of care, kept out of direct sunlight and away from moisture (don’t keep them in your bathroom for instance!) but you’ll be able to enjoy your beautiful blooms for years. Which means, this trend isn’t going away for a while!
